West Mercia needs a dynamic and visionary leader, capable of delivering the best possible police service for communities in Herefordshire, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Worcestershire.
Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion is looking for a Chief Constable who will support delivery of the West Mercia Safer Communities Plan and provide strong leadership of the police force. This will require:
- Driving down levels of crime and harm and bringing ever more offenders to justice
- Working closely with the public to reinforce the position of policing at the heart of communities
- Working closely with partners in the best interests of the public
- Ensuring West Mercia Police is a consistently high performing force, delivering on the investments made to provide effective and efficient services
- Inspiring strong levels of public confidence in policing
- Delivering ongoing reform and modernisation of the police force
- Making West Mercia Police a great place to work for its officers, staff and volunteers
To do this, the successful candidate will need to be an exceptional, innovative leader with a strong record of driving performance standards and organisational change. They will need the skills to build strong, purposeful relationships with a range of stakeholders and hold influence at both a local and national level.
