The Domestic Abuse Commissioner has today announced she will be working to end the ‘postcode lottery’ for allocation of services to victims of domestic abuse.
PCC John Campion said “Domestic abuse is an intolerable crime, the fact that victims can receive a different service dependent on where they live is not acceptable. I support the Domestic Abuse Commissioner in her plan to end the ‘postcode lottery’ for support services.
“It is imperative that we support all domestic abuse victims especially when they are at their most vulnerable, maintaining their trust and supporting them. In my Safer West Mercia Plan I have a focus to improve the response to domestic abuse and sexual violence and ensure the service delivered to all victims in West Mercia is consistent.”
