Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion has welcomed a new HMIC report which shows West Mercia Police is efficient at reducing crime and keeping people safe.
Inspectors found West Mercia Police has a “comprehensive understanding of it’s current and likely future demand”. The report also highlights how the force:
– Is focused on improving and adapting to provide a quality service for victims
– Has its resources aligned to the greatest areas of need
– Has made simple, effective short term adjustments to improve efficiency
– Is making long term investments in technology and partnership working.
John Campion said “I am pleased that this inspection echoes the good work, I have seen. It is reassuring to see the force is adapting, not just to meet demand, but to provide a level of service that victims should expect. I promised to ensure a police force which puts victims first and this report shows that is what is being delivered.”
“I expect to see the force build on this foundation now because it is clear that it can become more effective and more efficient. I will make sure those improvements are made on behalf of our local communities.”
