West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion said: “My thoughts remain with Dalian Atkinson’s family and friends and I understand their need to find answers. This charging decision from the Crown Prosecution Service has followed a long, independent investigation by the IOPC. With all that in mind, it would be inappropriate to comment further at the moment, as I acknowledge the importance for all parties that court proceedings are conducted without risk of prejudice”.
