Proposed precept
Thank you for your letter dated 13th February 2024. I welcome the decision of the Police and Crime Panel to support my proposal to raise the precept by 4.91% for 2024/25 adding £13.00 to the annual Council Tax Bill for a typical Band D home.
I share the Panel’s desire to see that the budget delivers progress against my Safer West Mercia Plan and that the budget investment returns the best possible results for local communities. I am therefore happy to maintain regular reporting to the Panel against the performance indicators set out in the budget report. This includes measures relating to public contact which you have raised in your letter.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, the members of the Police and Crime Panel and the officers who support them for their work, support, and advice over the last year, and particularly the members of the PCP Budget Task Group for their professional and thorough approach in working with my team as we prepared this year’s proposals.
