Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion understands the damage drugs cause in our communities and is committed to tackling the problem and driving societal change.
As the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) for the local Combatting Drugs Partnership, the PCC attended the first virtual Association of Police and Crime Commissioners forum on Tuesday 28 February focused on delivering the government’s ‘From Harm to Hope’ strategy.
The Minister for Policing, Crime and Fire, Chris Philp MP was in attendance and talked about the importance of local partnerships and SROs working together to ensure the strategy is delivered successfully.
There was also an update from PCCs in the Southwest on their joint operation to make the region of the country a hostile environment for drugs, the importance of treatment and recovery to cutting crime and building safer communities as well as a talk from the Home Office on reducing demand for drugs by changing attitudes.
