West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion has invested more than £6million to prevent crime and support the most vulnerable.
A key part of the Commissioner’s role involves funding projects and services to benefit communities. Across West Mercia, the Commissioner has supported projects that have been focused on improving victim care, reducing road deaths and tackling the most serious of crimes.
Funding has also been set aside for the Community Safety Partnerships in order for them to carry out valuable work within their respective local communities.
The Commissioner said: “Preventing crime and supporting victims is a key part of my role. By investing in a variety of projects I have made sure support is not only available to help victims of crime and their families cope and recover, but also that rates of offending and reoffending are reduced.
“Working with partner agencies to support and fund projects ensures resources are focused and tailored to address the most pressing priorities across Shropshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Telford & Wrekin.
“Local communities play a vital role in helping to deliver a safer West Mercia and as Commissioner I have always championed local projects and the positive impact they can have on our communities.”
