The West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner has invested in a scheme which tackles reoffending at its root.
Jointly with other regional Commissioners, and the National Probation Service, John Campion has commissioned the Community Rehabilitation Company to run sessions which help offenders move away from aggression.
The 12 month pilot project will form part of an out of court disposal order, helping around 40 offenders to explore and identity triggers of anger and anxiety, and develop skills to manage their behaviour.
Commissioner John Campion said “The cycle of violent crime has a significant impact on victims and our wider communities. Through the investment in this joint initiative I am committed to breaking this cycle. It provides yet another avenue for police and courts to help offenders to rehabilitate, ultimately reducing crime and preventing long term impacts.”
