Police and Crime Commissioner, John Campion, said: “I fully welcome the Government’s introduction of Jade’s Law, which will offer further protection to victims’ families and survivors of domestic abuse through the Victims and Prisoners Bill that I have long supported.
“To take a life is one of the cruellest crimes an individual can commit, and domestic abuse perpetrators should not be allowed to have any say on their child’s wellbeing if they have committed murder.
“As part of my Safer West Mercia Plan, I am committed to putting victims and survivors first and these new powers will aim to address a system which has failed victims’ families in the past, allowing them to move on without being tormented by the person who has taken a loved one away from them.”
