“I welcome today’s news that barristers have rightly ended strike action following a pay agreement with the Government. I’m sure a sense of relief will be felt by victims and witnesses across West Mercia who are simply seeking justice so they can move on with their lives.
“Moving forward, urgent action must now be taken to tackle the large backlog of court cases in West Mercia, made worse by the Coronavirus pandemic and recent strikes. I have repeatedly called for a long-term plan to ensure the judicial system is fit for purpose for years to come as justice delayed is sadly, justice denied.”
