Base: Hindlip, Worcester (with flexibility, depending on circumstance)

Salary: £38,000 (based on a full-time role, on a self-employed basis, fixed term contract until 2028)

John Campion is seeking to recruit a part-time Assistant Police and Crime Commissioner to support his work to make West Mercia’s communities even safer places to live in, work in and visit.

Engaging with communities and making sure their voice is heard within policing and crime is a key element of the PCC’s function. It is vital to ensuring local services reflect the needs of local people.

The vacancy is based on two days a week (this is equivalent to 0.4 FTE).

The successful candidate will have a strong background and skillset around engaging directly and building positive relationships with a wide range of communities and partners, as well as experience of leadership and governance.

Above all else, you will share the PCC’s commitment to ensuring West Mercia’s communities become even safer, happier and more prosperous in the coming years.

You will need to understand West Mercia’s policing and political landscape, at every level (and understand how to operate effectively within that environment), and be closely connected to the issues facing local communities on a day-to-day basis.
